पाकिस्तानने चॅम्पियन्स करंडकापूर्वी थाटामाटात लाहोरचं गद्दाफी स्टेडिअम आंतरराष्ट्रीय सामन्यांसाठी खुलं केलं आहे. काही कोटी रुपये खर्चून त्यांनी या मैदानाचं नुतनीकरण केल्याचं जाहीर केलं. यात नवीन फ्लडलाईट्सही बसवण्यात आले होते. आधीच बांधकाम वेळेत पूर्ण न केल्याचा ठपका पाक मंडळावर बसला आहे. त्यातच आता सदोष फ्लडलाईटमुळे किवी फलंदाज रचिल रवींद्राच्या तोंडावर चेंडू आपटल्याचा आरोप होत आहे. पाकिस्तानविरुद्धच्या एकदिवसीय सामन्यात क्षेत्ररक्षण करताना हा अपघात झाला. रचिल झेल पकडण्याचा प्रयत्न करत होता. पण, चेंडू त्याला नीट दिसला नाही. आणि तो डोळ्याच्या थोडं खाली त्याच्या तोडावर बसला. अर्थातच, रक्तबंबाळ अवस्थेत रचिलला मैदान सोडावं लागलं. क्रिकेट न्यूझीलंडने रचिल रवींद्रच्या दुखापतीची माहिती देताना, ‘रचिलला तातडीने वैद्यकीय मदत मिळाली आहे. त्याच्या कपाळावरील त्वचा फाटली असून त्यावर उपचार सुरू आहेत,’ इतकंच म्हटलं आहे. पाक डावाच्या ३८ व्या षटकात खुशदील शाहचा एक चेंडू झेलण्याच्या प्रयत्नांत बॅकवर्ड शॉर्टलेगला उभ्या असलेल्या रचिलला हा अपघात झाला. रचिलला या चेंडूचा अंदाजच न आल्याचं व्हीडिओत दिसलं. आणि त्यानंतर पाक चाहत्यांनीच या प्रकाराबद्दल गद्दाफी स्टेडिअमवरील फ्लडलाईट्सना दोष द्यायला सुरुवात केली आहे.
